  • We live in a world...

We live in a world where girls starve themselves for a bit of attention,
While other people are starving from a lack of food.
These girls want people to notice how pretty they are,
Or not be the fat one in the group.
Then they freak out when someone points out starving yourself isn't smart.
Like it's something that should be praised,
    Not looked upon with horror.
I think that's how I define the girls with a problem and the girls that want attention.
The ones with a problem know that it's a problem,
Only it's an illness for them. So they can't stop.

We live in a world where fat is supposed to be praised.
    So what if you're 300, 400, even 500lbs.
According to every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there,
    You have a thyroid problem.
    Obviously.
We'll just pretend that we didn't see the cheeseburgers you were stuffing yourself with.
    McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King,
    Bring on the Meat!

We live in a world where everyone takes offense to everything.
    It's quite obnoxious.
I'm offended by people who take offense easily.
    It irritates me,
And makes me want to push their buttons.

    *SIGH*

  • Freedom of Speech

Freedom of speech is only disagreeable when you don't like what someone next to you is saying. It's ironic really that we feel the need to protect our freedom to voice our opinions, but to silence others.

So lets say everyone on xanga agrees that gun control policy is ridiculous and that everyone should be able to own a gun without registering it. Every last one of us smile and nod at this thought. Everyone except for the little guy in the blue t-shirt over there. He stands up on xanga's front page and announces that this is detrimental to society. Now do we want to hear what he has to say? Do we even care?

No! We want him silenced. Take your horrible thoughts and go away. We aren't listening. La la la la la!

Freedom of speech becomes important when the guy in the blue shirt stands up to tell people about his thoughts on gun control policy. It becomes important when the Christian guy goes to the atheist convention and when the pro-choice believers crash the pro-life protest.

The United States stands alone oddly enough. We're the only country in the world that has freedom of speech written into our constitution.

Think about that the next time you're about to tell someone to shut the hell up without listening to what they have to say. Not thinking out both sides of an issue is ignorance. Are you ignorant?

  • When I think about babies...

When I think about babies I picture myself with lots of them. That is if I have any at all. I grew up with several siblings. It's nice always having someone to talk to. So when I think about babies, I think I want oh lets say four or five. That's a nice comfortable number. Hopefully I'll have a set of twins. That'd be so cute.

I hope when/if I ever have kids that I have boys. Not because they're easier. I'm sure boys and girls are roughly the same to raise. No, I want boys because I like boys names. Girls names are mostly not something I can honestly say I like. But boys names, with those the possibilities are endless.

    Favorite boy names so far:

    Ethan Lee
    Evan Anthony.

The Lee would be for my daddy. I'd actually name a kid Leon, if I could think of a cute middle name to go with it.

Not that any of this matters considering I'm not pregnant nor am I in a relationship.
  • Sadface =(

The wall paper is being torn off the wall in Bean's room.
The once white carpet is full of stains.
My great grandma's dish set has pieces broken and gone.
The windows are covered in smudges.
And all I want to do is cry.
How do I fix my once perfect household?
How do I figure this out on my own?
If I mention it to her, she'll yell at me,
Or roll her eyes in a terrible game.
I try to give her all the freedoms she wants here,
And do what I can to make it feel like her home.
But honestly, with everything I give,
    and everything I swallow,
    I feel like freaking out.
My thoughts and opinions are to the wind with her.
I feel as if she just doesn't care.
    Am I missing something,
Or did she shove my face in a big pile of disrespect,
    Again.

  • I'm Krissy. To be honest I'm a blogging addict who drinks a little bit too much pop. If it isn't pop, coffee is my beverage of choice. I say "Merry Christmas," not "Happy Holidays." I'm more offended by political correctness than I am from a statement. I like to think of myself as artsy, though I'm no artist. Right now I'm going to school for a history major and loving every minute of it. The past is so full of interesting riddles. I want to find answers to them all. ♥ Hmmm, lots of 'I's,' and a whole lot of generic information. Thus is life. ♥
Reading List.
The Subtle Knife ~Phillip Pullman
The Eight ~Katherine Neville
The White Queen ~Phillipa Gregory
The Silver Metal Lover ~Tanith Lee

Suggested readings are welcome. I’m a bookworm and just want books to read! ♥
